Digital Object Identifier (DOI) Policy

A Digital Object Identifier (DOI) is a permanent, globally unique alphanumeric string managed under the International DOI Foundation (IDF) and Crossref registry. DOIs provide an immutable, actionable hyperlink directly resolving to the authoritative Version of Record (VoR) of a published academic work.

In the International Journal of Research, Exploration & Knowledge (IJREK), every peer-reviewed research article, review paper, case study, technical note, corrigendum, and editorial release is assigned an individual DOI upon formal inclusion in a published volume issue.

IJREK assigns standardized DOIs structured according to International DOI Foundation specifications and Crossref indexing rules:

Upon publication, the IJREK production team deposits rich, machine-readable XML metadata into the Crossref central registry. This metadata includes:

• Complete Bibliographic Data: Article title, abstract, publication date, volume, issue, and page range.
• Author Credentials: Author names, institutional affiliations, corresponding author details, and verified ORCID identifiers.
• Funding Disclosures: Funder registry IDs and specific grant/award numbers.
• License Metadata: Open Access licensing under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).
• Reference Linkage: Formatted references cited by the authors to enable Crossref Cited-by linking across global academic databases.

Unlike regular web URLs that can become invalid over time ("link rot") due to server migrations, CMS updates, or domain modifications, a DOI resolves permanently via global DOI proxy servers (https://doi.org/...) to the canonical article landing page.

The journal guarantees that all assigned DOIs are actively maintained, backed up in digital preservation repositories, and linked directly to the peer-reviewed Version of Record and its downloadable open-access PDF.

To facilitate automated citation tracking, Crossref linking, and academic indexing, authors and researchers citing IJREK publications should always include the complete HTTPS DOI URL at the conclusion of their reference entries:

If a published manuscript requires a post-publication update (such as a Corrigendum, Erratum, or Expression of Concern), the update is assigned its own unique DOI and permanently linked to the original article's DOI.

This ensures that researchers accessing the DOI will always be alerted to any subsequent updates, amendments, or errata associated with the scientific record.
